Good Post. Sometimes we get so caught up in the mechanics of our faith, that we start to think any deviation from those mechanics must not be “real” faith. Whether it’s the style of dress, style of worship, music, prayer, meeting structure, language, culture, convictions, we look at the outside image and not the root of faith–JESUS. Thanks for pointing out the validity of diversity with the Body of Christ.

i fully agree with that we inevitably not only have but need structures and that the consequent question is about the nature of those structures. keep in mind though that it is a two-way road: people do create structures (by their giftings if you wish), but also do structures create people (by creating/ limiting spaces for exercising “roles” to be filled by biographic identies). so there might be times to start with the people and others to start with structures for people to grow into. just thinking along. cheers

I have been looking at using IdeaMason, but I was unable to successfully import all my records. I followed all the instructions in the videos for exporting and then importing, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I sen them this question, but hey have not replied to me yet. Can you offer any tips?

You are so right, Paul! Slow to speak, slow to anger – absolutely, but not don’t speak or don’t get angry. Anger can sometimes be good – but only as a last resort – patience comes first. Thing is not to sin when we are angry (Ephesians 4:26). I know all this – but why do I fly off the handle so easily in some situations? :S

Just to let you know, the KLV of the Bible, made by Mr Klingon, isn’t a translation. It’s simply the output from a computer program that did a massive “find and replace” on the English text. As you can see from your sample image, there are a bunch of “the”s that didn’t get replaced because Klingon doesn’t have an article that takes the place of “the”.
This work doesn’t preserve the original meaning of the text. As an example the first sentence you have means:
Daq the tagh ghaHta’ the mu’
It begins place’s the, he accomplishes being him, The’s word

well, that’s as may be… but according to my linguistics prof, there’s actually a group of people that banded together to make a colony that speaks only clingon… and are/were raising children that speake it as their native language.
