Basic Spanish Church Growth

View here (flash)

There are several unique things about this study.  It uses maps to show the location of churches by province.  It then allows you to display population statistics over the church locations.  The population statistics are displayed by municipal area enabling you to see where churches are located within smaller populations.

Another interesting and helpful feature is that the study shows the growth of the evangelical church in each province over a 27 year period. I have also taken a careful look at people groups and their locations in Spain.

The statistics on the Spanish evangelical church were compiled by Esther Rodríguez and published in the "Manual de Oración" by the Spanish division of the Pocket Testament League in 1997.  The presentation, maps, charts and any inaccuracies are mine.

To use this study you will need to have Macromedia Flash 7 installed on your computer.  This is a free program and you probably already have it on your computer.  But if you do not it can be downloaded here.

Research Models for Church Planting in Europe

View here (Web Page)  In this web page you will find seven research models.  All of them, save one, are directly connected to a church planting model.  Each of the seven is used in Europe.  Church planting models that had clear research models were the ones that were considered for this study.  It is true that there are a number of effective evangelistic models or methods and a lot of good effort is being put into church growth across Europe.  However the focus of this study is on the research that is connected with church planting models.  Is there a common denominator in between all of these research models? That is the question this study tries to answer.

Latvian Church Planting and Dreaming

This is a unique presentation that Samuel Bible and I put together. It shows the growth of the church in Latvia but also has two unique features.  First it tries to touch its listeners with a comparison between how many members there are in evangelical churches compared to basic needs in the country.  That is interesting. Then it goes on to 'dream' a bit. What would Latvia look like if they were to reach certain numerical growth?  Take a look and see.

This new presentation takes into account the progress of the church over a 25 year period and focuses on the growth of the main evangelical denominations.  As in the above presentation the data comes from the hard work of Maris Dupurs, Samuel Bible, Kevin Mason and their team.

This was a test program that focused on showing church locations in Madrid.  It looks at all of the denominations, groups them by larger categories and plots them on a map of Madrid.

Demographics North of Paris

How do you begin to make demographics useful?  One of the first steps is to begin thinking them through based on categories and in a area that you are well acquainted with.  I made this demographics dashboard for the GEM missionaries living north of Paris.

Study: Catalonia, Barcelona and Castelldefels

Download or view (7 mb) Study: Catalonia, Barcelona and Castelldefels in Flash (for easier viewing on the web)

This is an analysis of Catalonia to see where more spiritually needy areas might be.  The prevailing thought among Spaniards and many missionaries is that more church planting needs to be done in small towns where there is no witness.  This study shows that the large city of Barcelona is one of the more spiritually needy areas.  This contradicts current thought using demographics and church statistics.

Working Together to Reach Europe

Europe gives the impression of being Christian. But the reality is different.  This presentation was originally a PowerPoint presentation developed by Gordon Saunders, European Director for Greater Europe Mission. There are some very nice pictures in this presentation as well as some hard hitting facts.

View here (flash)

The EMRRt is a collection of missions researchers from various missions organizations and European denominations that have begun the process of investigating the growth of the European Evangelical church and its context. This advertisement is not official.  It is just a fun thing I did on a rainy day off.
